Overview

Overview
Bridge the Gap is a community 5K out of Washington Heights and Inwood in upper Manhattan, organized by the Dyckman Run Club and the YM&YWHA of Washington Heights & Inwood. The name says it: the goal is connection β€” across backgrounds, across the neighborhood, across whatever it is that usually keeps people from showing up to the same place together. The proceeds go toward free programs for community residents.

Meetup and warm-up kick off at 8 AM at 348 Dyckman St., with the run itself starting at 9. Everyone gets a dri-fit shirt and a finisher medal. There’s bag check on site so you can move around unburdened post-race. No age group awards here β€” this one isn’t about times. It’s a group effort by design.

If you’re looking for a spring 5K with real neighborhood roots and a reason beyond the finish chip, this is a good one to have on the radar. The Dyckman Run Club puts energy into their community, and it shows.

Parking / Transit
This race is in upper Manhattan β€” transit is the obvious move. The A train to Dyckman St. (200th) or 207th St. stations puts you right in the area. Driving and parking in this part of the city on a Sunday morning is doable but adds stress you don't need.
