Overview
The Sea Cliff Fire Department puts on this 5K every year to raise money for one of Nassau County’s only fully volunteer Fire and EMS departments. That’s not a marketing line, it actually means something: the people who show up to protect Sea Cliff do it on their own time, for free, and this race helps keep that operation running.
The course is new this year, USATF certified, and winds through Sea Cliff before hitting a stretch along Sea Cliff Beach. It’s a scenic little village with some actual hills, so don’t expect a flat PR course, but you will get a solid run through a charming waterfront community. Shuttle buses take you to the fire department start, and the finish is at the Sea Cliff Yacht Club where the party continues with free BBQ, live music from local band Chicken Head, and a vendor village.
Shirts are guaranteed for the first 250 runners, so register early if you want one. The awards structure is deep, covering overall, age group, and special categories for fire, police, EMS, and military. Rain or shine.
