Overview
Katy’s Courage is a 5K in Sag Harbor that raises money for local scholarships and cancer research. It’s organized through the Katy’s Courage foundation and benefits causes with direct community impact. The race starts on Water Street in the heart of Sag Harbor Village and finishes with the harbor right there, which makes the finish line one of the more scenic spots you’ll cross in a spring 5K on Long Island.
The course is flat with just a few small gentle hills, which makes it approachable for most runners. The vibe leans festive β there’s a DJ, music, hot chocolate, donuts, and bagels waiting after you finish. Trophies for top overall M/F, medals for top age group finishers in every bracket from 14 and under through 90+. Shirts included for all participants.
Sag Harbor is worth the drive if you’re coming from the western part of Long Island. The village is genuinely charming and the race gives you a good reason to spend time there on an April morning.
