The OG 5K is the annual race put on by OG Training Academy, a group fitness gym out of West Babylon that runs a free Sunday morning run club. If you’ve run with OG Run Club or trained at the gym, you already know the vibe: high energy, community-first, encouraging to people at every level. This race is an extension of that.
The course is at Belmont Lake State Park, which is a solid venue for a 5K. Fully marked route on park roads and paths, flat and manageable, with hydration at the halfway point and at the finish. There’s a free Kids Fun Run at 9:15 AM before the main event. No bag check, but there’s a casual gear area in the staging zone if you need to drop something.
Awards are unconventional: the top overall male and female each win a one-month OG Unlimited Membership. Age group winners get a 5K race medal. It’s a local-flavor prize structure that fits the gym community. The race draws a mix of training regulars and newer runners, and the energy is more group-run than race-day pressure.
