Overview
The Patchogue Family YMCA 5K is the opening leg of the YMCA of Long Island 5K Series, a multi-race series that also stops in Huntington, Glen Cove, Bay Shore, and East Hampton. It runs at Shorefront Park in Patchogue β a waterfront park on the Great South Bay with a genuinely nice setting for a spring road race.
The race is USATF-LI sanctioned and counts as an individual scoring race in the USATF-LI Grand Prix, so it draws a competitive field alongside the broader community. Top overall M/F receive a full-year YMCA membership and a gift basket, which is a more useful award than most 5Ks offer. Proceeds benefit the YMCA Community Food Distribution Program. T-shirts are first come, first served for those registered at least 2 weeks out.
Whether you’re chasing the series, the Grand Prix points, or just a good April 5K at a waterfront park in Suffolk County, this one has a lot going for it.
