Run With the Rams is a school community 5K and 1-Mile event hosted by Clarke MS/HS in Westbury. It’s a family-friendly race that draws students, faculty, and members of the wider East Meadow School District community, with proceeds split between supporting a Clarke community member or family in need and Clarke Athletics. It’s the kind of race where you’ll see a mix of fast high schoolers, teachers, and parents with strollers, all starting from the same school campus.
The race offers two distances: a 1-Mile fun run that goes off first at 8:30 AM, followed by the 5K at 9:00 AM. Both include a personalized bib and a t-shirt for pre-registrants. East Meadow School District students and faculty get a $5 discount, making this genuinely accessible for families in the area. Bib pickup opens at 7:15 AM in the Clarke MS/HS Gym, which is a nice detail that keeps things organized.
The awards structure is specific to this community: top 3 finishers by category including EMSD Faculty, Elementary Age, Middle School Age, High School Age, and Open. Plus top 3 overall in grades K-5th for the 1-Mile run. It’s a local event with local recognition, which is part of what makes it worth doing.
