Overview
Steps Toward Healing is a 5K run/walk at Eisenhower Park organized to benefit COPE Foundation, which provides free grief resources, workshops, and support groups for parents, siblings, and families who have lost a child. The tagline β no one should have to walk, or grieve, alone β says it plainly. This is a race with real emotional weight behind it, and the community that shows up reflects that.
The course is the familiar flat Eisenhower Park loop at Field 2. It’s accessible for all paces and the setting makes it easy for families to participate together. Participants are encouraged to bring a small photo of their loved one for a memory board at the event, which gives the finish area a different feel than most 5Ks.
All proceeds go toward providing free grief support services. If you or someone you know has been touched by child loss, this race is a meaningful way to show up, move, and be in community with others who understand.
