Overview
The Tesla Owners NYS Charity Run/Walk 5K is organized by the Tesla Owners New York State club and benefits Island Harvest, Long Island’s largest food bank, and EAC (Empower, Assist and Care), a social services organization serving Long Island communities. It’s a newer addition to the spring race calendar with an unusual origin β a car ownership club putting on a 5K is not something you see every day, and the energy around it reflects that novelty.
The race runs at Sunken Meadow State Park Field 3, a solid venue with good parking and park scenery. The 10:30 AM start is later than most 5Ks, which makes the morning a little more relaxed. Local vendors are on site and music is part of the event setup.
If you’re looking for a low-pressure April 5K at a good venue with a charitable purpose and a bit of a different feel, this one is worth considering. Award details were listed as coming soon on the race page β check the event website closer to race day.
