Overview

Overview
The 7 Line 7K is the New York Mets fan community’s race, and it wears that identity confidently. Organized by The 7 Line β€” the Mets-centric brand and fan group β€” and presented by Metropolitan Park, the course runs a scenic 7K through Flushing Meadows Corona Park, passing around the footprint of the old Shea Stadium. If you know, you know. If you don’t, the placard on the course will fill you in.

The event benefits the Amazin’ Mets Foundation, which supports under-served communities near Citi Field. Every finisher gets a medal and a race shirt. $100 goes to the top M/F overall, and there’s also the Mookie Mile: the runner with the fastest split between miles 1 and 2 wins a Mookie Wilson jersey. Post-race food is handled by Mookie Wilson’s Legacy Catering. The whole thing has a lot of personality.

This is one of those races where the experience around the race is as much of the draw as the race itself. If you’re a Mets fan or just want a well-organized 7K in a great park with real energy and a cause behind it, it’s hard to beat.
