Overview
The YMCA 5K in Memory of Marcie Mazzola is a Huntington community race that honors the memory of Marcie Mazzola through the annual YMCA 5K Series. It’s part of a multi-location series across YMCA branches, which gives it a little more infrastructure and organization than a typical standalone charity 5K. The race starts from the Huntington YMCA on Main Street and uses local roads in the village.
Road closures are in effect on race day, which is worth knowing if you’re driving to the venue β the registration page specifically calls out access routes via Park Avenue and the parking lot. The organizers have clearly dealt with the logistics before. Pre-race packet pickup is available the day before at the pavilion, and race day pickup opens at 7:00 AM, well before the 8:30 AM start.
T-shirts are included on a first-come, first-served basis, so earlier pickup is better if you want one in your size. A virtual option is available for those who can’t make it in person. Post-race includes refreshments and awards.
